Senior Accountant (Direct Hire)

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000
Reports To: Finance Leader

Position Overview

A growing Clearwater organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This role offers a unique blend of accounting, operational analysis, and process improvement responsibilities. The ideal candidate enjoys getting into the details, identifying the root cause of discrepancies, and partnering with multiple departments to ensure financial accuracy.

This is a highly visible position with opportunities to make a significant impact on accounting operations, financial reporting, and future system enhancement initiatives. Manufacturing experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for the month-end close process.
  • Analyze financial transactions and investigate discrepancies across inventory, receivables, payables, cash activity, and other key accounts.
  • Support the preparation of internal financial reports and management reporting packages.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure the integrity of accounting records.
  • Assist with sales tax reporting, annual compliance requirements, and audit support activities.
  • Participate in payroll-related processes and cash management activities.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory accounting functions to provide operational support when needed.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy.
  • Assist with ERP and accounting system enhancements, testing, and implementation efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, inventory-based, or product-focused environments preferred.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience researching and resolving complex accounting or inventory-related issues.
  • ERP system experience preferred.
  • Payroll and banking platform experience is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
